  • The Honeymoon of our Dreams!

My wife and I began our 10 night honeymoon spending 4 days in Barcelona which really started our trip with a bang. We were really looking forward to the Amalfi coast and only had 4 nights to spend and wanted to make the most of it. As we pulled up to the property all of the staff met us at the curbside to greet us, it was as if we pulled up to family members we hadnt seen in a long time. We were guided up to our room to get comfortable, and afterwards were met with a glass of wine on the terrace to plan our next few days in paradise. We planned to take a private boat tour of all the amalfi coast with guests staying at Villarena to help split the cost. The next day we met Guglielmo, the owner, in the terrace who informed us that all of the guests had canceled, however, Guglielmo being the amazing host that he is, took us himself on a rented boat along the coastline to wherever we pleased. It was truly one of the most amazing days of our lives. He was full of surprises, making the experience truly magical. After such a fun filled day, we decided we would have dinner at Villarena. My wife isnt a seafood lover (she really missed out) so Guglielmo prepared a dinner for her which was incredible. My meal was a mix of each of the different types of seafood served on the amalfi cooked to perfection. The next day Guglielmo arranged for a boat excursion over to Capri which left from the bottom of the hill. We planned this excursion so that we could make it back in time for a wine and cheese tasting that Guglielmo had planned for later that night with us and a few of the guests. Once again, those guests canceled. We really thought we would have to find dinner elsewhere. As we browsed tripadvisor Guglielmo informed us he couldnt let us go home without having tasted the wines and cheese of italy, so he made a private tasting for us in his wine cellar. Once again, Guglielmo pulled through and made an experience that we will never forget. I highly recommend the wine and cheese tasting... everything was amazing!! On the morning of our departure Guglielmo met us to check out. He stopped in sorrento in the morning to pick up a special chocolate covered pastry for us before our departure. The traditional breakfast in italy is pastries, cheese, tomatoes, and espresso. Villarena provides egg omlettes upon request, again... delicious. As we said our goodbyes, Guglielmo gave us a departure gift of our favorite bottle of wine from the tasting the night before. Im not the best writer, but I hope I could express in this review how amazing of a host Guglielmo and his staff are. They left us feeling as if we were leaving life time friends, and we were so sad to leave. We really hope to return soon!

  • Coming back

In a week's time we are heading back to Casale Villarena and to Gugielmo and his team. This will be our 8th visit in 9 year and we still cannot get enough of this lovely place. Looking forward to a boat trip, bbq evenings, baia Ieranto, Marina del Cantone. But most of all - Casale Villarena. ci sarà presto...

  • Kurzurlaub

Complimenti.

  • Great stay - cannot wait to be back!

Just returned after a fabulous week at Casale Villarena and missing it already! The stunning house with views that make you stop and look each time, lies in the unspoiled village of Nerano (short and beautiful drive from the bustling Positano and Amalfi). Here you can hear the clock chimes of the church bell marking the hour and observe the smiling old Italian ladies going about their daily business... Guglielmo's evident passion for food, wine, hospitality as well as his unmistakable Italian warmth and kindness makes you feel like you are at home and at a five star hotel (better in fact!!) at the same time! The in-house restaurant serves absolutely delicious food - you are asked what you would like to eat every night instead of being give a menu - how absolutely wonderful is that! I should also mention that I purchased multiple jars and bottles of the homemade jams, limoncello and lemon olive oil... Big mention to the wonderful Mariateresa (Guglielmo's right hand) - who is absolutely delightful, warm, super efficient - thank you, you star! My usual feeling after being somewhere new even after it's been great is where next, but this time, I genuinely cannot wait to return to this little piece of heaven...Until next time!

  • A Unique experience

Excellent, spacious accommodation Wonderful location overlooking the sea in a quiet picturesque village Unbelievable hospitality, form the initial greeting by the proprietor at the entrance gate to the hugs on leaving- the staff could not do enough for us! And the food! Remarkable, did not see a menu all week, local seafood in abundance with local calabrian wine and home made bread - too much!

Faire Preise. Da würde ich gerne wieder einmal vorbeigehen.

  • Warm welcome and great atmosphere

Perfect combination of home-feeling and great service. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Delicious food in their home-restaurant! We rented a flat with two bedrooms and kitchen. Perfect as a base for daytrips in the area; hiking, Amalfi- and Sorrento coast, boattrips, Capri, Pompeii ++.

  • Wonderful Service and Friendly Staff

We visited Casale Villarena in late October this year. We are very well traveled and can truly say that the hospitality experienced at Casale Villarena is exceptional. The staff are there at every turn to offer assistance, guidance and advice. The rooms are clean and comfortable with lovely views and the outdoor space is lovely. The highlight was the wonderful restaurant, food and wine. Every evening we were served something fresh and homemade. The pasta and seafood were lovely! Our 4 year old daughter enjoyed every meal and still talks about the lovely spaghetti. The experience as Casale Villarena was an authentic Italian holiday, almost like visiting a very good friend.

  • The best of the best!!!

I was a flight attendant for over 42 years and have traveled all over the world, staying in hundreds of places. This was a place, very high on my list, a diamond in the ruff. The staff was so warm and helpfull. The place was immaculate. Very, warm and homey. A great location, near Marina del Cantone, for doing any boat trips. Away from the touristy areas, living "with the locals" feel. William, the owner, was the best. He treated us as family, and helped us to enjoy the area, with new suggestions, each day. He organized a boat trip to see the "amafai" coast. It truely was one of the best days of my life, and I have seen much, over the years. He made us a very special "local" dinner after our 8 hr. day tour. He had many other tour to offer, plus wine tasting in his wine cellar. I left feeling I had made new Itailian friends. I would return in a heartbeat. It is not that easy to access, but I'm sure William will help with that.
